How we're shaping the NHF's next business strategy

The NHF’s current business strategy runs until March 2025, so we’re kickstarting the process of crafting our next one. It will shape our work and priorities until 2030, focusing on the issues that matter most to delivering our members’ social purpose.  
 
Our new business strategy will be informed by a strategic review that will refresh our understanding of the sector’s challenges, vulnerabilities and opportunities, drawing from a wide range of insight from our members, residents, stakeholders and NHF staff. 

I’m leading on the NHF’s strategic review, and my starting place is to listen to as many people as possible.

That’s why I’m running strategic review sessions at meetings across the country, at networks and events, and online. At these sessions I’ll present high-level analysis of the sector and invite views on the key objectives we should be working towards over the coming years.

It was fantastic to see so many people attend my first session, which took place at The Housing Community Summit earlier this month. I’m really looking forward to running more of these sessions throughout the autumn and hearing directly from hundreds of people.

Next steps 

I have a brilliant team working with me that will take all the insight gathered from our strategic review sessions and digest these into key findings. We’ll share these findings in a public report, published in early 2025. 
 
In this report we’ll outline how the insights we’ve gathered will directly inform the NHF’s next business strategy.  

This process will ensure that our new business strategy is firmly grounded in the critical issues affecting housing associations and the wider social housing sector.

This aligns with our primary goal of supporting our members to deliver their social purpose, with ambitious work that leads to positive change.
