Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3

The government has finalised and published guidance and details on the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (formally known as the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3).  

There have been significant changes to the fund and we are pleased to see many of the concerns raised by the NHF and our membership have been addressed.

This fund will open for applications in the week beginning 30 September 2024 and will close at midday on 25 November 2024. Delivery of the fund runs until 2028. I would urge you to start preparing your application now and apply when the window opens.

For homes in the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and West Midlands Combined Authority areas the funding will be devolved to the Combined Authorities and bidding routes will differ. For help with this, please email our External Affairs team.

The total funding available will be confirmed at the April 2025 Spending Review, together with more details of the government's Warm Homes Plan.

We continue to lobby the government in the run up to the Budget and Spending Review to ensure the funding is sufficient to meet the challenge.

The government also intends to consult on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards for social housing (targeting EPC C by 2030) and on EPC reform. We will work with our members to ensure our sector's views are heard on these matters.
