What smaller housing associations need to know about net zero and heat networks

04 February 2025

This session provides insight and support to help smaller housing associations access and deliver funding from Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund.

2025 is set to be a busy year for housing decarbonisation.

With ongoing high energy prices exacerbating fuel poverty, the government has set a mission of clean power by 2030, with their Warm Homes Plan and associated funding playing a key role.

In addition, a new regulatory regime for social landlords with heat networks managed by Ofgem is being developed. Energy Performance Certificates are being overhauled and new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards for social housing are planned. With a critical Spending Review and report from the government's Climate Change Committee also on the horizon, explore what all this means for smaller housing associations.
